Logo More

The process of designing my own logo was, to say the least, exciting.

I knew from start exactly what I wanted: It had to be the letter ’A’ illustrated as simple as possible and should work both in colour and black and white.

I changed the basic concept several times, but allowed myself as much time as needed to achieve what would suit me better.

The final design is something that I really like, mostly because it’s very simple and versatile.

Everybody knows I’m a big tinkerer, however this is the first piece that once finished I didn’t feel like changing.

A few years ago my life got to the point on which everyday was the mere repetition of the same day. I had a stable job, lived in a nice flat, but I felt as something was missing.

Then I did let go of most everything and went for a new beginning in London, not exactly knowing where I was heading to (but, let’s admit: even when we are sure, we never actually know).

I was already used to designing CD or DVD covers, posters, characters, business cards for myself and friends, but back then I wasn’t aware i was already doing graphic design, as in my head those was merely some little things I was doing in my spare time. But some friends advised me to give it a serious try, and so I did.

Some may think that because of my background in Fine Arts it would be an easy start. I also thought so.

It all started rather clumsy and when I finally was getting on track, it was already time to leave London (so very sadly). That meant to give my design project a long forced break. Now I am finally settled down and back on track, and the re-launch of this website is a great way to celebrate it.

By the way, the works shown here are mostly personal projects. Feedback is always appreciated.

I wouldn’t have done much hadn’t I had some good company along the way.

I would like to thank my family for making their effort to understand the 'little monster’ they created. Thank you so much for letting me not be normal, and for, actually, loving me more because of that.

I have a very special circle of friends, and some of them more than helped me to find the confidence and make it happen. Thank you Mark for catching my fall; Mauro for saving me from darkness; and Tulio for the long road. I truly love you guys.

Thank you Adriana Rodrigues, Andrea, Chris, Ilan, James, Jeff and Sheila for believing. I owe you all a lot. Also Adriana Gomes, Alberico, Elson, Fabricio, Liduina, Simone for understanding that sometimes the best thing to do is simply let go.

Thank you followers. And thank you for reading.

Have a nice day.

P.S. Thank you London City.

I have recurred to some books, magazines and online resources for additional backgrounds, fonts, textures and stock photography, being my main list is as follows:
